In a bid to gather more community feedback, extra drop-in sessions have been scheduled as part of the Isle of Wight Dementia Strategy review.
These new dates provide more opportunities for the community to engage in open discussions and provide direct feedback on dementia care and support on the Island.
New event details:
• 14 February, 10am to 1pm, Newport Minster, St. Thomas’s Square, Newport
• 18 February, 10am to 1pm, Ryde Library, George Street, Ryde
These sessions will complement the previously scheduled events:
• 5 February, 1pm to 4pm, Parklands Cafe, Cowes
• 11 February, 1pm to 4pm, West Wight Leisure Centre, Freshwater
The Isle of Wight Dementia Strategy was launched in May 2022, aiming to improve dementia services and make the Island a place where people with dementia can live safe and fulfilling lives.
Over the past three years, the Isle of Wight Council, the Island’s NHS, and voluntary sector partners have worked tirelessly to enhance the quality of dementia services and raise awareness across the Island.
As part of the ongoing efforts to refresh the strategy, the team is seeking feedback from the community to understand what has worked well and what can be improved.
Your experiences and feedback are vital in shaping a strategy that meets the needs of those affected by dementia.
In addition to the drop-in sessions, people can complete an online survey with paper copies available in local libraries, through Age UK IW, Alzheimer Café IW, Carers IW, or can be collected from County Hall in Newport.

If you need assistance completing the questionnaire, help is available at the Dementia Cafe at Parklands in Cowes.
The closing date for submitting questionnaires is 28 February.
